Massages on The Beach at Acamaya Reef

The massages on the beach are probably one of the best things to do on your stay in our little Eco-hotel, they are not just great but awesome, even the people from the resorts next door come to get massages done because at their resort they dont do the massage on the beach and of course, we have better prices. Come and give yourself a little time out from your regular life.

We have two types of massage so far:

The Relaxing Massage and

The Deep Tissue Massage

The Relaxing Massage

Most massage treatments will relax you, among other things. With a relaxation massage, relaxing you is the only aim. For this reason, it is one of the most complete and indulgent massages you can have.

You will have a long, luxurious massage which will use all kinds of techniques including long strokes, gentle kneading and rolling of skin and muscle, and perhaps some rhythmic rocking from side to side.

Relaxation massage is a passive treatment. You probably won't be stretched or manoeuvred into any yoga-like positions, as you are, for example, in Thai massage. You just lie there and take it. This is the massage to choose if you just want to chill out, and be pampered and spoiled.

Price of the Relaxing Massage: $50 USD per One Hour

The Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage but is used to target knots and release chronic muscle tension. Other benefits include reducing inflammation and helping to eliminate scar tissue. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia which is the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints.

Deep tissue massage uses strokes across the grain of the muscles, not with the grain as in Swedish massage. The more intense movements and techniques such as deep finger pressure may be slightly uncomfortable and cause soreness that lasts a couple of days before resulting in the desired relaxation and pain relief.
